Public’s Help Needed to Identify Kidnapping Suspect
DENTON, TX, April 3, 2021 – The Denton Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect and vehicle involved in an aggravated kidnapping.
At 11:44 a.m. today, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Del Mar Court in south Denton. A female victim said that an SUV approached her while she was walking her dog. The male driver then displayed a firearm and told the woman to get in the vehicle. She complied but was able to escape the vehicle without physical injury after a short distance. The vehicle drove away and was not located.
Fifteen minutes prior, a female victim reported a strikingly similar incident to Corinth PD. Although a link between the two incidents has not been confirmed, it is being investigated as a possibility.
The victim in Denton described the suspect as a Black male, possibly in his 20s, with short hair and a dark-colored mask. The vehicle, pictured below, was described as a silver or light blue, older SUV with a dark interior.
If you see a suspicious vehicle matching this description, please call 911. If you recognize this vehicle and believe you know the suspect, please call (940) 349-7812.
