Animal lovers and potential new pet parents joined the City’s Animal Services staff on Thursday, Feb. 27 for an evening of celebration at their Yappy Hour adoption event. Yappy Hour was one of two events hosted by Animal Services to celebrate the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center five-year anniversary. At the celebration, City staff and volunteers consulted and assisted potential pet parents in search of their perfect companion to fit their lifestyles and personalities. By the end of the event, 12 shelter pets were adopted.
An estimated 61 community members attended the event, enjoying the discounted adoption rates and a silent auction. Each animal adoption included spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchip implant, appropriate testing (heartworm and cat combo), and a City license for Denton residents.
The City’s Animal Services staff would like to express their appreciation to the volunteers, and community partners, that participated in the Yappy Hour event, and to everyone that provided an adoptable pet a home.
