Changes Reflect the Impact of the Rise in Local COVID-19 Cases
DENTON, TX, July 5, 2020 – In a response to the rise in local COVID-19 cases, the City of Denton has modified the extent to which its facilities are open to the public. These changes not only help to reduce the possible risk of COVID transmission within City facilities, but to also support the continuity of services in the event City staff are significantly impacted by the virus. In a related measure, City employees, where possible, will practice telecommuting as a preventative measure.
Additionally, consistent with Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-29, all persons entering a City facility will be required to wear a face covering unless they are exempted under GA-29.
The following facilities changes will continue until further notice:
City Hall – Beginning July 6, Denton City Hall will be open to the public by appointment only. This includes the City Secretary’s Office, City Manager’s Office, and Development Services.
City Hall East – Beginning July 6, the majority of City Hall East offices will remain closed to the public. The Municipal Court and Customer Service offices will remain open; however, in-person access to the Municipal Court and Customer Service lobbies may be limited to reduce crowding.
