Update: Suspect Charged with Aggravated Kidnapping

DENTON, TX, April 5, 2021 – Early Monday, the Denton Police Department charged 28-year-old Arique Bagby for the aggravated kidnapping that occurred Saturday in south Denton.
On Sunday afternoon, Denton police officers located a vehicle matching the descriptions provided by victims in Denton and Corinth. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Old Alton Road and Teasley Lane, and the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
After conducting interviews and reviewing available evidence, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
Bagby is currently in the Denton County Jail. Bail is set at $500,000.
